A colleague of mine is fond of saying that being a director of a Victim Service organization is the loneliest job she’s ever had. There are times when it really is something you do where you feel like you’re alone. You’re typically isolated from other Victim Service organizations due to the geography and fairly substantial regions each one of us are tasked with taking care of and responding to. Somewhere along the way, this prompted a few of the directors to get together and form a group, try to get organized and support each other. That evolved into a professional membership organization that now provides support, training, recognition, cutting edge programs, best practices and the chance to network and learn from each other.
Victim Services of Leeds & Grenville is proud to be a member of the Ontario Network of Victim Service Providers (ONVSP). Our statement of purpose is;
As a professional community of practice, the Ontario Network of Victim Service Providers will promote awareness and raise the profile of Victim Service agencies across the province of Ontario.
